Darcy-Weissbach Formula---Friction Factor Online Calculator

App Description

\(F=\frac {2×H _L×D×g}{L×V^2}\)

  • F = friction coefficient
  • D = pipe diameter
  • HL= head loss
  • g = gravity acceleration
  • L = pipe length
  • V = flow rate

Usage example

Input data:

Head loss - 474 ft; pipe length - 45 ft; pipe diameter - -20 ft; flow rate - -15 ft / sec; gravitational acceleration - -8 ft / sec 2 .

Click "Calculate" to display the results.

Output results:

The friction factor is 14.98.

Note

Units for head loss, pipe length, pipe diameter, flow rate and gravitational acceleration can be selected by clicking the checkbox arrow at the back and selecting the appropriate unit.
