Darcy-Weissbach Formula---Pipe Diameter Online Calculator

App Description

\(D=\frac {F×L×V^2}{2×H _L×g}\)

  • D = pipe diameter
  • F = friction coefficient
  • V = flow rate
  • L = pipe length
  • g = gravity acceleration
  • HL= head loss

Usage example

Input data:

Friction factor - -15; head loss - 474 ft; pipe length - 45 ft; flow rate - -15 ft / sec; gravitational acceleration - -8 ft / sec 2

Click "Calculate" to display the results.

Output results:

Pipe diameter is 20.02571 feet

Note

Units for head loss, pipe length, flow rate and gravitational acceleration can be selected by clicking the checkbox arrow at the back and selecting the appropriate unit.
